ALHAJI ABUBAKAR USMAN AHMED (B.Sc, MBA)
Abubakar U. Ahmed was educated at the Bayero University, Kano where he graduated with bachelors’ degree in Sociology in 1982. He also obtained an MBA in Marketing from the Lagos State University.
He has over 22 years working experience in the Nigerian Telecommunications Industry, of which 15 years was with NITEL. He was at various times, in Personnel Administration, Customer Services, Customer Accounts & Credit Control, Nitel (090) Cellular and Special Services, consisting of Leased Circuits, Inmarsat, Vsat, And Special Events. He was later Director of Administration and Corporate Affairs of Mid Atlantic Consortium Limited before joining Motophone Limited as Director of Administration and Corporate Affairs between 1997 and 2002. He coordinated the team that set up the company’s GSM Network. Abu Ahmed was also a member of the Ministerial Committee on Interconnection between Nitel and Private Telecommunications Operators. He is currently the Executive Chairman of Modern Telecommunications Limited
G. O. OBASOHAN (B.Sc, FCIB)
He is a seasoned professional banker with over forty years of banking experience. He trained at Yaba College of Technology in 1956, Leeds College of Commerce (now Leeds University of Commerce) in UK from 1963 to 1966.
He obtained a Bacheror’s Degree in Economics from the University of London in 1979. Mr. Obasohan started his banking career in 1960 with Barclays Bank DCO (now Union Bank of Nigeria Plc). He later joined the CBN in 1967 as a supervisor and rose through the ranks to become the Director of Banking Examination before he retired in 1996. While in CBN, he served on several committees. He was pioneer Chairman of the Joint CBN/NDIC Technical Committee on Problem Banks. Between 1997 and 2000 he was Managing Director/CEO of Cooperative & Commerce Bank and National Bank of Nigeria. He is a fellow of the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
